Hidrostal Pumps submersible/immersible pumps are a range of quality screw centrifugal non clog pumps. They are capable of pumping general effluent and municipal and industrial wastewater that includes solids, rags and other common materials. Viscous pumping and even gentle handling are also possible with this type of pump. Submersible differs from immersible in the motor types. The submersible motor is cooled by conducting heat from the motor to the liquid in which it is submerged. This requires the motor to be submerged for normal and prolonged operation. The immersible motor features a closed loop cooling system that circulates fluid around the motor housing and exchanges heat through a finned plate at the bottom of the motor housing.
End Suction Screw Centrifugal Pumps
All of Hidrostal's Dry Pit/bearing frame pumps incorporate the screw centrifugal impeller. This hydraulic design offers considerable benefits over conventional centrifugal pumps.
The impeller has a single spiral vane having large open passages and an extended turn from the axial to the radial direction.
These features give a combination of characteristics not found in any other type of pump, namely:
Beford Pumps is a Hidrostal company that manufactures a variety of Heavy Duty Dry Install Wastewater Pumps, Submersible & Immersible Wastewater Pumps and Submersible Axial Flow pumps for wastewater and flood control.
This range features a more traditional wastewater design that features a shrouded, mulit vane impeller and is available in either a Dry-Pit/Bearing Frame design with mutliple instalation configuration in either a horizontal or vertical position. These hydrualics are also available in either Wet Well/Submersible or Dry-Pit/Immersible type featuring motors by Bedford Pumps.
Hidrostal Axial-Flow type pumps are designed for low head applications up to 30 ft TDH and flows from 500 GPM to 20,000 GPM. The axial flow pump range is based around Hidrostal’s standard range of submersible motors. The difference is that the volute on the low-pressure versions is replaced with a casing having an axial discharge, enabling the pump to be installed in a tube or concrete.
Commonly used in lower head applications where a traditional wastewater pump does not provide a good fit. Our Hidrostal Axial-Flow pumps provide the same benefits of improved solids handling characteristics while still providing high efficiency and long life cycle operation.
Prerostal Self Cleaning Wet well System
The PREROSTAL® and PreroClean™ Prerotation system is a unique, economical, uncomplicated method of automatically adjusting pumping volume to varying inflow rates using a constant speed motor and pump. It combines the screw centrifugal impeller characteristics of a Hidrostal pump with a specially configured vortex inducing chamber around the suction pipe of the pump. The chamber utilizes gravity to impart a fluid spin in the same direction of rotation as the pump impeller, and this spin produces a flow reduction without the necessity of changing pump speed. This method of matching pump outflow to pump station inflow eliminates the need for any electrical equipment such as inverter drives.
